Samuel Larson III has a picture he drew. Four men grouped in a loose composition. One man with his hands on a weapon, another leaning back against the wall, the last two standing to one side of the photo grinning at some shared joke. This was the memory that he carried with him everywhere. The moment he captured on crappy torn paper the group of men who saved his life and that of his sister ten years before.
MacKenzie "Mac" Jackson is a former marine hiding in the Catskills. He has murderous nightmares and carries the guilt that he couldn't save his best friends. Someone out there is intent on stopping him talking about a mission that went wrong, but he is prepared and no one will get past his perimeter without him knowing. He will protect himself or die trying.
When Samuel arrives at Mac's place he throws Mac's plans out of the window and when the secrets they hold could bring down a US senator things can only go from bad to worse.
Suddenly Mac has to protect this man that threatens his heart, and when the shit hits the fan he can't be sure he will succeed.
