I was going to share my top 5 favorite TV shows, but I realized I actually spend more time listening to podcasts each week than watching TV. Since I spend most of my day sitting at a computer, being able to load my entertainment onto my phone and enjoy it anywhere is amazing. Do you listen to podcasts? What's your favorite?

1. Up First by NPR - 10 minutes of news that comes out early every weekday morning. They have a nice mix of politics and pop culture. I do actually listen to it first thing in the morning, if for no other reason than to see if I want to avoid the news for the rest of the day.
2. Myths and Legends by Jason Weiser - This is probably the only podcast my partner will actively listen to even when he's not a captive audience (a.k.a. not stuck in the car). Jason Weiser does his research and presents old stories in the most original form he can find with his own modern commentary thrown in. When there's a plot hole, he doesn't gloss over it. When the hero does something incredibly stupid, Jason's right there with you trying to figure out wtf.  I really appreciate that he tells stories from all over the globe.
3. No Such Thing As A Fish by audioBoom - This podcast often ends up as ridiculous as the name implies. They start with a random fact and then try to top each other with crazy sounding facts that relate to the first fact. This is my go-to if I just need a good laugh. I actually had to pull over on the road once, I was laughing so hard.
4. Tell Me Something I Don't Know by Stephen J. Dubner and Stitcher - A game show where the contestant presents a fact and is judged on if the judges actually didn't know the fact, how useful the fact is, and if it is actually true.  I love this one because the contestants are usually presenting a fact from the field they work in and because there is an actual person who fact checks for the judges.
5. Science Friday - I'm pretty sure this is more my daughter's favorite than mine. If she's stuck in the car with me, Science Friday is her least terrible of the terrible choices. She's 11; everything I listen to is terrible. I like that they take the time to go deep into the subject and still manage to cover several subjects each week. My daughter's favorite segment each week is their "Good Thing, Bad Thing," where they explore the goods and bads of something going on in the scientific world.
