A Shooting Star

<p>A Shooting Star is an engrossing and well-written tale with a likeable group of characters. David Star, my favorite, is a mystery and a man of many layers. You never know what he will do next. I read this book while squeezed into a very crowded airplane. The story was so interesting that the hours seemed to fly by. Thank you author Joe C.!</p>

This story just blew me away. It is so beautifully written and though I didn’t cry it touched my heart. Once I started I didn’t want to stop. Joe has such a way with words he paints a moving picture. I could see each movement, I could envision the plays and my heart went out to David, Jonathan and Barry as well. I had a love/ hate relationship with David, I hated Terrance, loved the other’s that David’s life touched as they hitchhiked to town and the professor gave a comedy relief to the sad nature of the story.
If you like something different form time to time, a bittersweet story, Actors, college men, and a very sweet romance I highly recommend this.

This book has a magical quality to it. Reading it gave me a sense of wonder, mystery and enchantment. You never quite know where it is going next, but can’t wait to find out. David Star is an enigma. He is a Pied Piper, with a charisma that charms people into following wherever he leads. He is a Fairy Godmother, granting people their deepest wishes. Yet, you always feel there is a dark secret hidden within. When Jonathan becomes his college roommate, he immediately falls under David’s spell. Joe Cosentino writes a fascinating story of David and Jonathan’s time together during Jonathan’s Freshman year as a Drama major. It will make you laugh and cry; it will inspire you and touch your heart; and it will keep you mesmerized throughout.

This was such an incredible, touching story that brought a loving man, David, who was a senior drama student and cared about people, brought his acting ability to observe and change the lives of many people. His roommate in college, Jonathan, was a young man who David took under his wings to show him what to look for in people to help him react in his acting. The two men went out almost every evening, interacting with many people, and Jonathan became very attached to him to the point of loving David, but they would only get go the point of kissing and touching. Jonathan couldn't understand why. David would go out every night at 10PM coming back late after Jonathan had gone to sleep. David's father had a big impact on the fact he didn't want or feel anyone should love him. Jonathan did want him and one night it happened between them, but after, David left like he always did. One night the two go out to celebrate Jonathan's great performance in the college play and the unimaginable happened. David told Jonathan he would always be with him and love him. This was a beautiful story with sad overtones. A very gripping, heart wrenching novella. A great read!!
