Clear Water

I was awarded this book for showing Amy and a DSP editor llama butts, so be forewarned. ~_^ I found this book really charming. Characters with low self-esteem and the men who bolster them push buttons for me in the right balance, and this book pushed my button. I also enjoyed the female secondary character - she was well written and integrated into the story. What surprised me most, though, was the ending, which was pretty darn exciting and suspenseful. It was a sharp turn in the story, but not so sharp that I couldn't roll with it. In hindsight, the last third was well foreshadowed in the first two-thirds, I just didn't put the pieces together ahead of time. Not being able to predict a plot is a real pleasure because I'm a pretty cynical reader and can see most plots coming a mile away. Highly recommended!

Amy did really well bringing the subject of ADHD to a believable character like Patrick. His struggle with his feelings of self-worth were at times both sad and endearing. Putting him in the care of Whiskey was just what he needed. Their relationship was so sweet it left a smile on my face hours after I finished reading this book. I will be recommending this book to my friends.

This book made me laugh and cry. The characters are lovable and flawed. I hope to read more from Amy Lane similar to \"Clear Water\" or \"If I Must.\"
