Mark King

Mark King started out his artistic life as a child actor and ended up as a writer. Along the way other arts became involved: painting, photography, and music. So far he’s been a church pianist, herbalist, editor, coach, gardener, and library technician. He hopes to host many other identities before the run is over. He loves writing romance—basing it both on real life and what real life lacks, letting fantasy and the imagination set in where reality ends. Sometime in the 90s, Mark decided to take writing seriously and studied for ten years at The Writer’s Center of Bethesda. He writes in a variety of genres: fiction, poetry, plays, screenplays. His work is continually published in literary journals, and his plays and screenplays have been produced. Under his penname Roberto Christiano, he was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. He was awarded the2010 Fiction Prize from The Northern Virginia Review. In 2013 he won two consecutive poetry awards from writer.org.
