The voice, damn great ! Tyler Stevens is perfect for this book.

This is how Amy Lane roll, either the book is crazy sad with crazy twist, or crazy funny and fluffy! Name it, you'll get both.
And lots of her MCs are NOT perfect. They're not handsome, clumsy, having disabilities, nerd....just...you know... 'human'.
This story is no exceptional. Will with his square face, nerd, too tall. While Kenny is just an average 'not too tall' and just found out that his living in boyfriend having sex with someone else. Great.
The meeting between Kenny and Will, let's say, they will never forget it forever.

This book is freaking funny, sweet, so down to earth. And we can imagine it's what happen in real life. I still believe in love at first sight. Although Will didn't understand what it is, not until re realized that he's falling in love with Kenny at a first sight....months later. Ouch !

Thing is, Kenny also didn't realized that. Not until he tried to be 'friends with Will forever and didn't want to ruin their friendship' with trying to date someone, and Will didn't let him.
Oh well...there guys were just too clueless about their feelings, or need some good communication skills. Either of those.

This is fluffy, but full of life lesson. There's when near the ending, I was crying. Yep. Cry.
The ending though...It was EPIC!

I have no idea why I keep waiting to read this, glad I can finally met Kenny and Will. In my eyes, they're PERFECT!

What a great book to read. Enjoyed the way the story was done and the story from Will and Kenny's perspective.

Loved every word of this wonderful story. Pure joy from start to finish. You will not be disappointed adding this to your read often collection! Warm, sweet, and heart-warming. I highly recommend this title.

It's no secret that I'm a true fan of Amy Lane. Someday I will meet her, tackle hug her, and then hope to just sit next to her while she knits and we kvetch. Seriously?! Best dream ever. I was excited to read Shiny! (okay, when am I not excited to read a new release by Amy?), in part because I knew it was a little lighter fare than the normal angst and pain. I love the angst, but this author writes really great humor, too, so I was looking forward to something light, easy, funny, smexy, and just plain fabulous.
One of the funniest scenes EVER. Kenny just caught his live-in boyfriend having sex with another man in their bed. Okay, that's not the funny part. The worst thing? This stranger is using one of Kenny's butt plug and cock ring combinations. Oh, ick. After throwing the ex-boyfriend and his belongings out, Kenny puts all of his toys (who knows what else the stranger has used?) in a plastic bag and throws them on top of the garbage. Hang on, I'm getting to the funny part, okay? Kenny is throwing the sheets in the washer when he hears a car knock over his garbage can and stop. Kenny walks outside, in his neon turquoise and green boxers, to find Will looking at the toys he threw away. Priceless. Just, priceless. I snorted water out of my nose on that scene.
Will isn't having a good day. In fact, it is a crappy day. The church across the street from Kenny's house fired Will from his teaching position. What? Say it ain't so. Why? Because Will didn't understand that Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and the X-Files poster \"Trust No One\" weren't a part of the church's curriculum. Huh. And then he knocks over Kenny's garbage can and sees 'things' he doesn’t quite know what to make of. Will does notice that Kenny is kind of cute and for some reason he notices his body, which is really strange since Will has never looked at another man like that. After hearing Kenny's tale of woe, Will decides going out for a beer is the perfect antidote for them both.
\"But no - it wasn't just her. All girls feel like that to me. I mean, it's why I'm not really excited about dating. I'm poor, I'm geeky, I'm sort of unattractive - it's not like they're going to be trying to teach me what it's all about, you know?\"
Kenny had never actually felt his eyes widen before. Ever. But… but… he'd found one. Weren't they, like, a myth or something? The famous gay guy who didn't really know he was gay? Naw… no. Couldn't possibly exist.\"
Will and Kenny become besties. The genius humor of the scene where Will figures out he's gay, just about blew my mind. No pun intended. So, anyway, they become besties, but Will hasn't told Kenny that he's realized he's gay. Will is waiting until he becomes essential to Kenny. Kenny is trying to figure out how to not fall in love with his new, straight bestie. When it all comes together? Simply beautiful.
Now, you might be thinking that this book is just \"cute\" based on what I've said. And it is, but it's more than that. It's about not caring what's on the outside because what's on the inside is who you'll love forever. It's how being best friends is the basis for a love that will last forever. Even better? It's how laughter and trust can get you through anything the world can throw at you. So, even though this is lighthearted reading from Amy Lane, there is still an important message and I'm so thankful to her for reminding me of it.

So much fun! I adored the whole story from the beginning right through to the very last page. Wonderful characters, some great lines and a unique way of telling the story of Will and Kenny.
I loved the way the story of how Will and Kenny met, moved first to friends and then to lovers, was woven through the book as they tell the story to friends at a family wedding.
There was something about Will that I found particularly appealing but Kenny was gorgeous too and I just loved seeing them together!
The tone of the book was really set from the moment they meet each other over the spilled contents of Kenny's garbage bin - and oh my, what contents!
Here are a couple of my favourite lines from the book....
\"You don't look gay,\" Joey said suspiciously.
Will blinked. Well, that was new. \"Maybe I'm just really, really happy inside,\" Will responded with a bright smile.\"
\"You're gay!\" she shrilled, and he pulled the phone away from his ear. \"How in the hell do you know you're gay?\"
He smiled a little to himself. It was sort of private information, but he figured he owed her a little after the last four months. \"Because when I look at pictures of naked men, my penis goes off like a roman candle,\" he said frankly, and that was when she hung up.\"
